Description:

This compact and colorful Gulim-e-Chobi (wood-tone kilim) is handwoven in Maimana, a northern Afghan town known for its tribal textile heritage. Created using the traditional zanjir-baft or kilim stitch, this reversible rug features vivid geometric bands inspired by Central Asian tribal motifs. Its bold orange, turquoise, olive, and maroon tones are all derived from local plants and natural sources.

Unlike pile rugs, kilims like this one are flat-woven, making them lightweight, foldable, and perfect for smaller spaces or layered boho décor. Every inch of this piece reflects the rhythm of Afghan weaving traditions — from its sturdy texture to its symmetrical design.

Features:

  • Flatweave kilim, light and reversible
  • Woven with 100% sheep wool and botanical dyes
  • Ideal for entryways, kitchen corners, reading nooks, or outdoor patios
  • Handmade in just one week using heritage techniques
  • Natural imperfections are a mark of its authenticity

Care Instructions:

Vacuum lightly or shake to clean. Avoid wet cleaning; dry clean when needed. Use a rug pad to avoid slipping.
